Security and Police in Loch Sport

Loch Sport is a part of the Sale Police response zone.
Sale Police Station is a twenty four hour establishment situated at 58-60 York Street, Sale.

A police building was recently opened at Loch Sport and is prominently located at the entrance of town. The facility is the refurbished former Churchill Police Station and is used for police business occasionally during the year and for the whole of the summer school holiday period.

The telephone number of the Loch Sport Police facility is 51460556.
When the facility is unattended calls to this number are automatically diverted to the Police Communications Centre for the area at Morwell.

Residents and visitors in Loch Sport who become victims of crime are encouraged to report all incidents, however minor. Telephone reporting of crime is available for damage to property and theft type offences, with certain criteria. Police will always attend when requested.

Telephone reports of crime can be made at any time to Sale Police Station on 51442244.

Calls requiring an urgent police response should always be made on 000.

Loch Sport has an active Neighbourhood Watch which meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 1.30 pm at the community centre.

Loch Sport Unit Established 1989

The Loch Sport Neighbourhood Watch holds their monthly meetings on the second Monday of each month at the Health Centre, corner of Graham Street and National Park Road at 1.30 pm.

The prime purpose of Neighbouhood Watch is working with the local police in "Creating Safer Communities".

The Area C0-Ordinator is Leo Wright, Don Tanner acts as Secretary while Colin Bruce is the Treasurer and Richard Maurice is the Editor of the Monthly Newsletter.

Some of the services available to any home owner in Loch Sport include:

1. Absent from residence form which, when left with the Sale police assures you that your home will be checked over whenever the police patrol the township.
2. Also available are marking pens and engravers to mark valuable items in your home. The pens and engravers are available from the Area Co-Ordinator or Secretary any time you require same.
3. Neighbourhood Watch house signs in various sizes are also available.
