A Piece of Gippsland
by Ron Nicholas
It’s a little pieced of Gippsland
By the lake and near the sea
Ask anyone that’s been there
They’ll say, ‘It’s heavenly’
You can’t find no giant market
And there isn’t no Tucky Fried
There’s a lack of parking meters
Close to heaven, just this side
I haven’t heard a factory whistle
Not much stress or strain for you
It’s just paradise with bird life
You can see wild kangaroo
As they hop along the roadway
And graze upon the lawn
It is wonderful to see them
Be it evening or morn
So if you have a spare day
With not a lot to do
Just come on down and have a look
Of course, bring your family too
A look upon the Ninety-mile
A stroll down in the park
Then a cooling swim out in the lake
And drive home just on dark
