Generally
good conditions this week, but some weed seen in the
surf again. Channel good. Not a lot of fish being caught!
But there have been a few salmon, small flathead and
some gummies. Reports of even a couple of pinkies having
been caught. Some baracouta have been kicking around
with some "bite offs" before they could be
landed. |

The
surf looks better, but the weed comes and goes because
of the strong winds and sidewash. The water felt quite
warm on Saturday but now feels cool again.
Very few fish are being caught. A salmon or two, small
trevally, small gummy and presumably a school shark
of good size. Some bite offs have been reported. |

sidewash cutting another step in the beach. Water murky

- No wind, calm sea. Two fishers, no bites.
Evening - Just arrived and a strong Westerly wind sprang
up then became calm again. Fished 3 hrs, no bites. A
couple of fishers each caught a salmon. Weather was
threatening and weed coming in. |

- Slight Easterly breeze, overcast, water calm. One
fisher, no bites. A shark head from a good sized shark
was left on the beach by an earlier fisher.
Evening - Wind swung around almost 360 degrees in 3
hrs fishing. Dark clouds around and quite cool. The
only bites were Draughtboard sharks playing with the
bait. Sea lice extra bad at consuming bait. |

- No wind, sunny day, calm water. A few fishers. Apparently
two fishers had their only catch bitten in half whilst
winding it in.
Evening - Slight Easterly wind, which dropped right
off to become calm and still. At sunset had my complete
rig taken with the main line quickly cut and shredded.
Caught a small gummy, 1.6 kg salmon plus draughtboard
and cat sharks. |

the surf is also very shallow. A few small spotty salmon
and small flathead have been caught by those who have
persevered. Reports of a whale passing the beach on
Saturday morning. |
