who actually fish the area. Unlike some fishing sites who just copy stuff that is weeks old and claim it as their own.
If the fishing has been bad we say so and do not pretend otherwise just to get you here. Reports are updated weekly, usually Thursdays.

We are well into summer but as yet no stable weather patterns have occurred. Strong winds have consistently brought in sand, widening the bar and filling up the channel, leaving very little suitable water in which to fish - even at high tide!
Because of these conditions flathead and mullet are about the only varieties of fish that have been caught at the ninety mile beach.
Good news for lake fishers though as there have been reports of good catches from the beach including flathead, whiting, mullet and the occasional bream. There have also been a few good sized mulloway bagged at McLennan straits behind the old eel farm.

At the moment we are back to strong winds and weed, after slightly improved conditions on the surf. Some good catches of flathead but nothing big. Reports of large salmon but very patchy results, plus a few small gummies. The channel is very narrow and the sandbar very wide making it hard to find any depth of water to cast into.
