Sharkman's Fishing Diary
Our Fishing Reports are factual from people who actually fish the area. Unlike some fishing sites who just copy stuff that is weeks old and claim it as their own.
If the fishing has been bad we say so and do not pretend otherwise just to get you here. Reports are updated weekly, usually Thursdays.

Unfortunately the wind has not stopped blowing this year and we are still experiencing difficult Spring type surf conditions - wind, weed, sidewash and a bar close in that few fishers can cast over.
Friday was the only successful occasion for fishers this week when a couple of bronze whalers were landed. It was apparently mayhem with all the lost bottoms, one fisher was spooled and another lost his rod which quickly disappeared in the surf. Other than that only a few mullet and a flathead or two have been caught in the shallows.

8.30pm - Easterly breeze. Quite a few fishers having to wade out to cast. Later report of many "bite-offs". One fisher loosing his rod and another being "spooled". Two small bronze whalers were landed.
Thu 1 -2 - 07
Wanda
90 Mile Beach
The poor fishing conditions at the surf have excelled themselves - weed, wind, sidewash and deep water beyond most fishers casting ability. Most fishers have resorted to fishing for mullet in the edge but only a few have been caught, also some spotty salmon. Fishers who have fluked a cast over the bar and into the channel have landed a small gummy and a 1.47 metre, 13.2kg one. We now have an Easterly gale to contend with, but unfortunately this season has been plagued with similar similar conditions.
Thu 1 -2 - 07

11am - Easterly wind, picking up to become quite strong. Water starting to pound when waves breaking. Several fishers catching a few mullet in the shallows. Reports of a couple of salmon caught earlier.
