There has hardly been a fisher at the surf. The beach and water have been black with ash and burnt debris from the fires. The heaps washed up on the beach when dried out, were blown up into the dunes making the dunes look as if they had been on fire.
Some small gummies have been caught but mostly undersize and put back.

1pm - Light Easterly breeze, water reasonable. One fisher with no bites in 2 hours.
Evening - No wind, absolutely calm water. Caught 4 small gummies, put the smallest ones back. Another fisher caught 3 small flathead and 2 cat sharks.

7pm - Easterly wind, rough sea, beach windswept, looked like a moonscape. No fishers.

10am - Strong Easterly wind, big sea, unfishable.

1pm - Loads of black ash and burnt leaves everywhere. No fishers.
Evening - Southerly wind became strong at dark. Fished a while, caught a throwback gummy and a catshark.

Early Morning - No wind, calm water, loads of ash. Caught 2 small gummies.
Evening - Cool Southerly breeze, and ash. Caught a throwback gummy, a fiddler-ray and a catshark but went home empty handed.

Early Morning - No wind, water calm and plenty of ash. Threw back a small gummy. Had a big run, line broke as it damaged the reel. No other fishers.

10am - Ash beginning to wash up on the beach. No Fishers.
7pm - Southerly breeze. Water edged with thick ash and burnt leaves. No fishers.

Weed is still causing fishers an enormous problem. It has washed away for a short time then comes straight back. On the odd occasion without weed some mullet, salmon and flathead have been caught. The channel is reasonable, sidewash had filled it with sand on a couple of occasions.

Light Easterly breeze, still weed everywhere.

8pm - Fairly calm water with plenty of weed in the water also on the beach. No fishers.

4pm - Southerly Gale with a big sea and huge sidewash, water yellow with sand.

11.30am - Easterly wind, water full of weed. No fishers

11am - North Easterly breeze, water calmed down, some sidewash. Two fishers, one had a mullet. Evidence on the beach indicated that salmon had been caught earlier.
8pm - No wind, water fairly calm, weed on the bar and washed up on the beach. Two fishers with a pile of weed near their rods.

Early Morning - Westerly breeze, cold morning. Sea fairly calm. Caught one small gummy - the only bite in hours. When leaving, other fishers began arriving.
5pm - Strong Easterly wind, water rough. Two fishers with 3 mullet.

Wind and weed all week. Surf has cleaned up this morning with some small gummies and large salmon being caught. Channel has a lot of shallow areas because so much sand was swept off the beach.

Early morn - No wind, water reasonably calm. Caught 2 small gummies and put back a small school shark. Reports of a few large salmon caught later in the morning.
5.30pm - Cool South Easterly wind, water rough. No fishers, but one just arriving.

7pm - Light Southerly wind, water a little rough with some white water and sidewash. No fishers.

11.30am - South Easterly wind, water rough and had washed big lumps of weed on to the beach and plenty of weed in the waves.

3.30pm - Calm conditions, so much sand had been washed off the beach since yesterday flattening it right out. Big patches of weed noticeable. A couple of fishers trying to avoid the weed.

4pm - Strong Southerly breeze, water a little rough. Big patches of weed visible around the bar. Also weed all over the beach where fishers had pulled it off their lines. Two fishers, no bites.

8pm - Strong Southerly wind, water rough, some sidewash. Brown tinge of weed.

11.30am - Strong Southerly wind, rough sea, huge sidewash, also weed. Unfishable.
