90 Mile Beach |
The
very sudden cool conditions have dramatically changed
the fishing results at the surf beach. Draughtboard
sharks are a plentiful nuisance to evening fishers.
Good bags of large salmon to 3.5kgs were caught this
morning but the fish have not appeared regularly, in
fact on many occasions fishers have left the beach empty
handed.
The channel is now deep and wide, conditions appear
excellent. |

Generally
good surf fishing conditions, but results have been
patchy. Some lucky fishers have taken good bags of large
salmon, others nothing. Only a few mullet lately, with
the occasional taylor and small gummy - plus draughtboard
sharks.
A couple of fishers have reported the loss of probably
a large shark. For several nights baits have not even
been touched by crabs, having stayed on for over two
hours.
Plenty of good water with a wide deep channel, the bar
has moved well out. |

Weather
conditions are remaining fairly extreme especially the
strong winds which bring in weed. The channel is deep
and wide after Westerly and Southerly winds. Salmon
are being caught but very patchy, some fishers are lucky.
Others have to be content with a few mullet and the
occasional gummy. |

90 Mile Beach |
Strong
winds and weed are still affecting the surf, but have
not damaged the beach as regards fishing. The channel
remains good. Generally fish have been scarce during
the snippets of time when conditions have been good
enough to fish.
Only one report of some large salmon and a small gummy
having been caught. Of course very few fishers have
braved the conditions, especially the sudden sharp drop
in temperatures. |
