The
Loch Sport Boat Club offers Sailing and Power Boat events all year round
including Training, Competition, Cruising, Navigation trials and Social
events.
The Loch Sport Boat Club offers something for the whole family.
One of the oldest clubs in town it was
established by holiday makers in 1965. In 2001 the club moved into our
permanent home at the Loch Sport Safety & Water Sports Centre, Charles
Street, which was built and financed entirely through volunteer resources
of the members of the Loch Sport Boat club.
Well located at the Western end of Loch
Sport and next to a launching ramp, carpark, jetty and the caravan park
our licensed clubrooms are open every Friday night for members and visitors.
Affiliated with Yachting Victoria and
Yachting Australia, members have reciprocal rights to visit other clubs
around the Gippsland Lakes and across Australia.
Sail training courses are run using club
owned yachts. Anyone over 10 years is welcome to participate in a course
with tuition from a fully qualified Yachting Victoria Training Instructor.
Sailability
Victoria: Sailing for people of all ages is supported by volunteers
from the club on their visits to Loch Sport.
Special annual sailing events include
a long distance race through Lake Victoria and around Raymond Island
and return on the Saturday of the Melbourne Cup weekend.
A sail past and navigation trial for power or sail on New Years day
followed by lunch and on shore activities for all the family is a very
popular event.
